Considering a Hotel before Your Early Flight? Why You Don't Want Drive Far the Morning of Departure

If you have an upcoming early morning flight and a long commute to get to the airport, you may want to consider getting a hotel room near the airport instead of making the drive the morning of the flight. There are a lot of issues that can arise when you have an early morning flight, and you don't want to risk having to buy another ticket for a different departure time because you're late. Here are a few of the reasons why you should consider a hotel right by the airport the night before.

Don't Risk Missing Your Flight

If you stay near the airport the night before your early flight, you won't have to risk having a problem the morning of the flight and missing your plane. Bad weather, an accident on the highway, or a problem with your car could prevent you from getting to your gate when your plane is ready to take off, and then you'll have a new set of problems.

Avoid Airport Parking Fees and Bustle

Many hotels near the airport are low cost, and they will have an airport shuttle, like one from Broadway Cab, that can pick you up to take you to the airport the morning of your flight. Choose a hotel that offers free parking while you're gone. This way you won't have to drive around the airport parking lot to find a parking spot and add that time to your commute. You also won't have to wait in line to get into the parking lot; the shuttle will drop you right off at your terminal. The shuttle is also a great way to get back to car at the end of a long trip.

Get More Sleep

You should be at the airport at least 1.5 hours before your departure time, and sometimes it's recommended to be there even earlier. When you are staying close by, you can get more sleep and get to the airport rested instead of having to wake up, rush, and possibly panic about getting there in time when you are far away.

If you are debating going up to the airport the night before your flight or risking the drive the morning of your departure, don't make a decision that you could potentially regret and that could mess up your trip. Instead, plan everything out in advance so you'll have smooth travels and avoid chaos the morning that you have to leave.
